Two EIT Deep tech Talent Initiative Pledgers, QuLearnLabs and the Albanian Centre for Artifical Intelligence (AI Albania), have recently announced a new partnership, which began from a shared goal; to tackle Europe’s deep tech talent gap in AI and quantum. This would not have been possible without the Initiative connecting them as Pledgers and directly facilitating the collaboration to expand their training programmes.
The aim of the partnership is to prepare a highly skilled workforce, ready to join the deep tech industry in Europe. To do this, they are co-creating and expanding advanced AI and quantum training programmes, which includes bringing a lighter, introductory version of QuLearnLabs’ quantum computing course to Albania.
Andreea Moga, Program Coordinator – Learning & Partnerships Lead at QuLearnLabs, said: “The partnership between QuLearnLabs and AI Albania addresses one of the most urgent challenges in deep tech today: the global shortage of quantum-ready talent”.
“As quantum technologies move from theory to application, countries that invest early in education and capacity-building will shape the rules of the game. This initiative positions Albania not just as a participant, but as a proactive architect of Europe’s quantum future – proving that even small nations can lead when they prioritize talent and vision.”
Marjana Skenduli, Founder and CEO of AI Albania, said: “As the world celebrates the UN’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology in 2025, the QuLearnLabs and AI Albania partnership emerges as a beacon of EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative’s ambition. This collaboration is a game-changer for Albania’s tech scene, directly addressing the need for advanced skills. We’re fast-tracking AI and quantum development, solidifying Albania’s talent pool and adding the country on the map for Europe’s deep tech future.”
About QuLearnLabs
QuLearnLabs is a learning accelerator for quantum technologies and advanced computing skills, and aims to build highly skilled individuals, professionals in the quantum software engineering space, and bridge the gap between research and valorisation of knowledge in the quantum space in a triple helix format: academia, industry and government.
Its flagship education initiative, the AI-assisted Software Engineering in Quantum Computing and Post-Quantum-Cryptography programme (AI-SEQ) has been awarded by EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative to educate a new generation of quantum software engineers in Europe.
