Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering

The course is a professionally oriented bachelor’s degree (240 ETCS, NQF 6), aiming to provide extensive technical thinking skills, readiness for acquisition of information and professional studies, as well as the possibility for further studies related to present and future professions.

Within the programme, you can focus on machine automation, product development, production technology, aircraft technology or intelligent machines. Your special skills could be, for example, machine design or production management.

The basics of natural sciences and professional subjects, from statics to strength theory and from machine parts to computer-aided design, are an essential part of the studies. In addition, you get to study practical skills in materials technology, welding, machining, machine installation and machine automation laboratories.

The degree corresponds to the criteria set by the Finnish national degree system for university of applied sciences degrees and the European reference framework for degrees and other competences. The course runs once a year, starting in August.
