The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative to participate at 20×30

We are delighted to announce that Salvatore Moccia, Head of Education and Skills at EIT Digital, will be representing the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative at 20×30, Europe’s Advanced Digital Skills (ADS) Summit, which is taking place in Madrid on 16 May. Salvatore will be a panel member in the ‘Making the business case for skills investments’ session.

In an era of rapid technological evolution, Europe’s competitive edge hinges on its ability to develop and maintain advanced digital skills. In Salvatore’s words: “Currently, more than three quarters of companies in the EU report difficulties in finding workers, with the necessary skills, and latest figures from Eurostat suggest that only 37% of adults undertake training on a regular basis. Thus, having the relevant skills will, undoubtedly, empower people to successfully navigate labour market changes and to fully engage in society. Furthermore, a workforce with the skills that are in demand also contributes to sustainable growth, leads to more innovation and improves companies’ competitiveness.”

Facing a critical shortage of skilled ICT professionals, the 20×30: Europe’s ADS Summit is a free one-day event that unites thought leaders from business, academia, and policymaking to propel Europe towards its ambitious goal of adding 20 million new ICT specialists by 2030, and underpins the Digital Decade policy initiative.

Featuring roundtables, keynote speeches, workshops, and showcases of best practices, the summit is an ideal place to discover innovative solutions and strategic collaborations to improve Europe’s digital skills landscape.
