Generation’s data and impact tracking system validated by the Social Innovation Match (SIM) database

EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Pledger Generation has recently had its data and impact tracking system successfully validated by the Social Innovation Match (SIM) database.

A data framework to drive decisions and prove long-term impact

Generation’s data and impact tracking system is a replicable framework with over 47 million data points collected across 17 countries, from which they track learner progress from the application stage through to up-to five years’ post-programme, allowing them to analyse and assess employment status, income, job quality, and well-being.

The framework is backed up with robust data architecture which features real-time dashboards on recruitment, learning performance, wellbeing mentorship, placements, and alumni outcomes, enabling timely quality assurance, operational adjustments, and targeted support interventions.

This data-driven approach provides tangible evidence of the social impact Generation is having and ensures they provide tailored support to learners, optimise resource allocation for staff, and track whether the programmes create lasting, meaningful outcomes.

What does this mean for the training providers?

Generation hopes to inspire the adoption of their data and impact tracking system across the vocational education and training (VET) sector, lifting quality, effectiveness, and equity for all. And by sharing and having their model validated by SIM, it is now publicly available for other training organisations, academic institutions, and any other VET provider.

Additionally, Generation has recently co-launched The Durability Collective, a growing community of funders, practitioners, and experts committed to measuring and advancing long-term social impact, by promoting the adoption of durability measurement, an approach that captures employment, income, and well-being outcomes years after programme completion.

One of the core initiatives of The Durability Collective is the launch of the Durability Academy, a multi-year programme for non-profits seeking to advance in their data capabilities to measure long-term change and use it to improve their interventions. By the end of the programme, organisations will have taken all the steps to be able to measure and analyse data, implemented long-term data collection, and have a set of insights to improve their programmes.
