Our pledge
We are enthusiastic about using our established expertise to identify and support promising tech entrepreneurs in North Macedonia. As Macedonia’s first accelerator that integrates academic expertise with investors and business support organizations, we hope to boost North Macedonia’s place in the European innovation ecosystem and ensure that our local talent can contribute to social concerns through deep tech solutions. By taking part in this effort, our comprehensive acceleration programs that provide entrepreneurs with critical business and technical skills will contribute to the Deep Tech Talent Initiative and its goal of training one million people in deep tech.

About
Business Accelerator UKIM (BAU), established in 2018, identifies and supports the most promising technology entrepreneurs, startups, spin-offs, and scaleups in North Macedonia. Founded by Macedonia’s prestigious University Ss Cyril and Methodius Skopje along with RSM Macedonia, Crimson Development Foundation, and the Foundation of Prof. D-r Dimitar Stamboliev, BAU offers customized pre-acceleration and acceleration programs in addition to access to global markets.

Since its establishment, BAU has funded €533,000 in ten startups, supported more than 150 teams, evaluated more than 400 creative concepts, and carried out more than 20 acceleration programs. Through its programs, BAU provides a wide range of services to foster the growth of talents, startups and innovative companies, such as business capacity development (acceleration), product and service development support, market linkage development, private sector networking and fundraising assistance. These programs have been successfully implemented across various sectors, including circular economy, mobility, deep tech, health, raw materials, food, energy, and manufacturing. BAU’s efforts have also been complemented by organising numerous hackathons, entrepreneurship events, and other innovation-focused initiatives.

As North Macedonia’s EIT Community Regional Innovation Scheme Hub, BAU promotes innovation by giving different entrepreneurs access to international markets, resources, mentorship, and infrastructure, enabling them to propel technological advancement and global economic success.
