Our motivation to join the Deep Tech Talent Initiative (DTTI) Pledge stems from our commitment to fostering innovation, bridging the gap between academia and industry, and empowering the next generation of deep tech entrepreneurs. At the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST), we recognize the transformative impact of deep tech on global economies and societal challenges.

As a leading multidisciplinary institution with a strong emphasis on science, technology, and engineering, USUST is dedicated to equipping students and professionals with the skills necessary to thrive in the deep tech ecosystem. Our university actively engages in research and education initiatives that align with DTTI’s mission, including:

Advanced Engineering & Digital Technologies: We offer specialized programs in artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and data science.
Industry-Academia Collaboration: Our dual education model, developed in partnership with leading industrial enterprises, ensures practical experience alongside academic learning.
EU-Funded Research & Innovation: We participate in multiple European projects supporting deep tech advancements and knowledge transfer.
Online Learning & Digital Resources: With over 2,000 courses available on the Moodle platform, we are committed to accessible, flexible, and innovative education.
Through our pledge, we aim to contribute by developing new courses, hosting workshops, and fostering partnerships that drive deep tech talent development across Europe.

About
Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST)

Established in 2021 through the merger of two renowned institutions, USUST is a premier multidisciplinary university in Ukraine, recognized for its excellence in education, research, and innovation. With nearly 15,000 students and 1950 faculty members, including 139 professors and 523 associate professors, USUST consistently ranks among the top universities nationally and internationally.

The university comprises six educational and scientific institutes, 24 faculties, 121 departments, 13 test centers, and 31 research laboratories, fostering a dynamic academic environment. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure includes 21 academic buildings and one of Ukraine’s largest scientific libraries. Additionally, USUST offers officer training in six military specialties, enhancing its diverse educational opportunities.

Its research potential is evident in numerous patent applications and significant publishing achievements. The university is also deeply engaged in EU-funded scientific and educational projects, working alongside top institutions and organizations across Ukraine and Europe.
