The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) actively promotes deep technological innovation through programs such as the chairs, the UPV Spin program, and its available training offerings.
The UPV Spin program supports the creation of technology-based companies, with 25 active spin-offs in four years.
Additionally, the upcoming (scholar year 25/26) bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Alcoy campus addresses industry demands.
In addition, UPV has five important chairs dedicated to deep tech training:
The INCIBE-UPV chair, which focuses on the development of high-value-added solutions and services in the field of cybersecurity, as well as the training and development of specialized talent in the field of cybersecurity.
ENIA-UPV CHAIR IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT that boosts research talent in Spain and fosters innovative R&D across various AI applications and new training programs.
Chip Photonics Chair and the UPV-VASIC INTERNATIONAL CHAIR OF MICROELECTRONIC DESIGN aimed at enhancing research talent in Spain, fostering innovative R&D across various microelectronics applications, and strengthening training programs.
Navantia-Monodon a chair in Deep tech that specializes in photonics and quantum technologies.
These efforts underscore UPV’s commitment to advancing deep-tech education and research.
About
UPV is a public Higher Education Institution actively involved in international cooperation and mobility projects. UPV hosts over 31,000 students and employs over 4,000 people (teaching, research, and administrative staff). It is the first technological university in Spain according to international rankings (e.g., Shanghai Ranking of World Universities) and offers 43 undergraduate programs (plus 14 double degrees), over 80 official Master’s degrees (including 4 Erasmus Mundus Master Courses), and 30 Doctorate programs. In addition, UPV has an extensive catalog of lifelong learning courses (over 1.400). UPV has repeatedly ranked amongst the top 5 European Universities in student exchange figures under the Erasmus+ Programme. UPV has experience in managing European projects and takes part in different actions, such as Erasmus+, Creative Europe, HorizonEurope, etc., and in several international networks, having more than 1.000 international partners from over 90 different countries.
