As a university with strong academic and research foundations, we aim to bridge the gap between education and industry needs.

About
University of Western Macedonia (UOWM) is currently one of the biggest academic institutions in Greece, comprising of 7 Faculties and 22 Departments located in the five main cities of West Macedonia Region. UOWM offers numerous curricula at the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate level, hosting more than 20000 undergraduate/postgraduate students and post-Doc researchers. Teaching and research staff (> 300) excel in many subject areas and are well acknowledged for their contribution to the creation and advancement of knowledge and technology transfer.
Fostering on the full incorporation of ICT in every-day practice, UOWM invests in innovative educational programs and multidisciplinary fields of research finely corresponding to the needs of the modern world and specifically on advanced energy related issues. Up to date, the Research Committee of UOWM has successfully managed hundreds of national and EU funded research projects.
Research Committee – University of Western Macedonia
An important part of the University is also the Research Committee. Key objectives of Research Committee of University of Western Macedonia are the creation of knowledge and the promotion of scientific research. Research Committee is the most important to upgrade the level of Teaching and Education via the implementation of National and European programs.
Research Committee is responsible for research institution management related activities which created to meet the needs of the research activity.
The responsibilities of the Research Committee include formulating policy research institutions and related actions, acceptance, availability of funds for project implementation, training and scientific annual financial planning / reporting, implementing decisions, secretarial service and making recommendations for operational and development.
Research Committee is organized in several departments, such as Staffed Planning and Development, Administrative and Financial Support Engineering, Procurement, and Financial Accounting and Project Management, Publicity and computerized applications and equipment.
The usage of an integrated and technologically modern information system covering all the needs of management research projects, operational needs and provides a completed picture of its activities.
Research Committee cares for the organization, the appropriate operation and quality management of new knowledge and services developed by its scientific staff.
