Campus Biotech Digital

Our pledge
The training platform of the Campus Biotech Digital called “Immerscio.bio” offers “Biomanufacturing” training program open to everyone – professionals, employees who are retraining or recent graduates – keen to give their careers a sense of purpose and discover totally disruptive approaches for producing innovative therapies that are more affordable and closer to the patient.

About
On December 14, 2020, the French bioproduction sector has launched an ambitious training organization called: the Campus Biotech Digital. Unique in the world in the field of training programs for bioproduction industry, the organization is focused on the development of skills in this field in order to meet new technological challenges. The Campus Biotech Digital aims to unite skills and differentiated knowledge in biotechnology and digital, by strengthening collaboration within the sector and by offering a wider ecosystem space for designing innovative educational content in connection with industrial needs. Resolutely collaborative and immersive, the Campus Biotech Digital relies on the agile methodology of “design process thinking” to adapt to innovations in a constantly changing sector.

Why it’s important?

The bioproduction of tomorrow could be the cure for the incurable diseases of today. From different types of cancer to degenerative illnesses, from rare diseases to certain chronic disorders, biomedicines such as vaccines and antibiotics could produce game-changing results. With the emergence of new technologies, it is now possible to contemplate totally disruptive approaches in biotech that will produce innovative therapies that are not only affordable but also closer to patient needs and the specificities of their illness. Although biomedicines today only make up 30% of the total drug market, by 2025 they will represent 50% of the most prescribed drugs.

What is the main challenge today?

Making these drugs accessible to patients. This involves, on the one hand, prioritising their development and industrialising production in France, while guaranteeing the right quantity, the required quality, the speed of production and affordable costs. On the other, it means helping to build France’s health independence on the world stage so that we can guarantee that the most innovative treatments are available to patients.

The training program coveres the entire bioproduction chain, from design to delivery of the product to the patient. The educational curriculums and modules of the training program, developed by experts from the field, reproduces stages of the Bioproduction value chain in immersive mode – such as flight simulators used for training aircraft pilots – with digital twins, virtual reality, augmented reality, optimized control rooms and learning machines integrating artificial intelligence. All this possible thanks to solid and strong partnership with key digital players as Atos, IBM, and Microsoft.

The platform allows professionals and young graduates to develop their skills throughout the health bioproduction chain. The training offered will be mainly digital, inviting “learners” on an immersive journey through various innovative digital solutions. Faced with the challenges that health bioproduction represents today, the Campus Biotech Digital offer is unique in the world: both comprehensive and personalized, its purpose is to provide a response to the training needs identified in this sector and to train the experts of tomorrow in this field.

The Campus is led by a leading industrial consortium (bioMérieux, Novasep, Sanofi, Servier) brought together by the Strategic Committee for the Sector of Health Industries and Technologies. It brings together the entire national ecosystem: training organizations, digital companies, equipment manufacturers and SMEs.
